New California Jr. Olympic Champion
April 24 - On a sunny Saturday in Southern California,
Michael Flores scored a 112 out of a 125 targets ensuring a spot in the finals as the tournament leader. With a score of 20 single-shot targets in the finals, he won the gold medal 10 targets ahead of the second place competitor. Winning last year's State competition, Flores now holds the titles for California State Olympic Trap Champion and Junior Champion.
Flores meets Trevor Bayne - 19 year old
NASCAR Nationwide Circuit Driver
Bayne, drives #99 for Diamond-Waltrip Racing, met MJF at the Phoenix International Raceway on April 8. As Bayne prepared for his run at the Subway 200, he shared his skill of driving with MJF as passenger in the Toyota pace car. After the 100+ mph hot laps MJF said, "I love racing as much as I love shooting. This opportunity is a dream come true." The two shared their passions when MJF gave Bayne a tip or two in shooting at the Ben Avery Shooting Center. The time spent together was special for both young men.
